Conductive Coating (Primer) for Electroless Plating of Plastic Components

StenCoat CC 2000 is a conductive coating designed for painting plastic parts which are plated with nickel and/or copper. This coating:
- Is easy to mix, spray and cure
- Yields a tough and durable coating when cured at low temperature
- Has a low volatile organic component (VOC) of 1.1 lb/gallon
- Provides excellent adhesion to ABS, polycarbonate and other plastic substrates
- Offers a low plating time to improve plant operating efficiency
StenCoat CC 2000 is a three-pack waterborne coating consisting of the following components:
- Basecoat--CC 2000A
- Pigment--CC 2000B
- Curing Agent--CC 2000C
Painted parts may be plated with copper and nickel plating solutions. In general, a 15 to 20 minute plating time is sufficient to achieve suitable conductivity for copper plated parts. Extending the plating time is not necessary, and is not recommended, as lengthy immersion in plating solutions may create problems with the plastic substrate and paint. The exact plating time will vary with the specific plating line and the desired final conductivity.
